The classic NZ deer rifle.

People love these rifles and they are both collectable and shootable.

She's light - only 6lb as the stock is hollowed at the butt and foreend (hence featherweight) and is one of the best working rifles, with the smoothest action.

Phillip Holden used one, so did Rex Forrester, Angen Snow, Percy Lye, everyone who was anyone used these BSA's.

This rifle is the version that has five stars, but not "majestic' engraved on it. According to John Knibbs in England (writes books on BSA firearms) this version was made and exported to NZ specifiaclly for the government deer cullers, as that was a large market for them. I rang him and asked him.

This rifle had shot a lot of deer in it's time. The barrel is 21 inches long, and it has a split in the foretip, which is not dangerous nor does if effect accuracy. An easy fix that I never got round to.

John Knibbs from Airgun Supplies UK, (a former BSA employee) will sell you a BSA factory barrel and new stock for GBP180.

She's a good shooter and the handiest little rifle. The target photographed was shot at 50 metres only; but it still measures only 3/8ths of an inch center to center.

Has integral scope dovetails on top of action so you don't need mounts; the Parker Hale scope rings come with the rifle. (But the scope pictured doesn't.)
