Silver Alu - Why do we like this model of Talley rings? Lightness & rigidity, the one piece base with the lower ring incorperated means nothing to come loose under recoil, knocks or vibration in a vehicle, we see many rifles where scopes have loosened as a result of those factors

Weight is important these days, we spend alot of our gunsmithing time reducing rifle weight, fibreglass stocks, alu bolt shrouds, bolt knobs & barrel fluting & space age materials in sound suppressors, we don't see the need for heavy steel rings given that the scope tube is light ali anyway in most cases

Fitting, we recomend 2 pot epoxy (hi strength araldite) to glue the base part to the reciever, & tap on the screw head during the final tightening phase to bed the screw down. Removal will require light heating to break down the epoxy. That way youll NEVER have a scope come loose!!

Measurements are taken Top of receiver to bottom of the scope tube & are approx

Auction is for one of the following:

1" Marlin XL-7, Win model 70 (.860" distance between the holes of the rear base) "Extended"

Low #s93x702 Front Base 10mm Rear Base 13mm or

Med s94x702 Front Base 13mm Rear Base 16mm or

"Extended" means that one of the bases has a longer base so you can have a shorter tube scope fitted

We are often asked "will my XYZ 3-9x40 fit my rifle with these rings?" without seeing it, its very hard to say

However you can work it out yourself by placing the scope above the reciever (on plastisene blocks makes it easier) so the objective bell (thats the front part of the scope) clears the barrel & the ocular bell (thats the back part of the scope) clears the bolt handle, flag safety etc)

You can then measure the gap (that we are looking for) between the top of the front reciever ring (above where the chamber starts) & the bottom of the scope tube, (which may be 4mm or 16mm etc) which should tie in with the height of the ring in this listing
