This is a beautiful Benelli semi-auto shotgun.

Collings & Bradey in Carterton have replaced the mainspring and reblued the barrel. The lacquered finish has been removed and the stock and forewood now have an oiled finish.

There is a very small mark in the butt (left side) and a small mark on the forewood (left side).

The bottom of the receiver is engraved with scrolls. The left side of the receiver has Urbino Italy engaved on it.

The right side of the receiver has Benelli Armi engraved on it.

On the bottom of the receiver it has 123 engraved with SL80 beneath it. This is located just infront of the trigger guard.

It is chambered for 2 3/4" 12 gauge and it has three external chokes - cylinder, improved cylinder and full as well as the choke tool.

I believe that it was manufactured in 1980 or the early 80's and that it is the predecessor to the Benelli M1 Super 90.

The cast is for a right handed shooter.

The barrel is 580mm in length. The barrel has "BENELLI ARMI S.P.A. - URBERTO ITALY - CAL 12 CAM 70" engraved on it.

Length of pull - 360mm

Drop at comb - 40mm

Drop at heel - 60mm

The magazine holds 4 plus 1 in the chamber.

Field stripping is done without tools as far as one of the photos shows.

I have been told that it is suitable for steel. I have not fired it since the work was done on it. According to my wife I don't need it now as I have another semi-auto,a side by side and an under and over.
