39 South Lodge was built in 1983 and is located in Ohakune Alpine Village.

The shareholding is restricted to 100 shares, and the lodge has 10 rooms with a total of 33 beds, and separate manager's bedroom. During the ski season a full-time manager lives on site. The lodge has two living rooms, spa pool, drying room, ski workshop and extensive kitchen facilities.

With the ratio of beds to shareholders it is only in peak periods that it is difficult to get in. It has a volunteer booking officer with a maximum of 7 days booking in advance to keep it as free and available as possible.

Apart from using it a base for skiing, we have often used the lodge in summer as there are a host of outdoor activities in the area.

The annual levy is $420 and this has been paid for the current season.
