This is a quality art print of NZ Motorsport Legend, Gary Pedersen, in the Begg FM4.
Following a very successful 1971/2 season with David Oxton at the wheel, the Begg FM4 was replaced on the ‘works’ team with the coke bottle shaped FM5. This proved lucky for Gary Pedersen and his GEMCO team as it was the only competitive F5000 available in NZ when they wrecked their new McLaren M10B in a testing accident at Pukekohe. When the FM4 appeared in the yellow and gold of the GEMCO team it had been fitted with a full width, shovel nose, similar in style to the FM5, and the Morand engine and Hewland gearbox from the wrecked McLaren. Pedersen, in this car, was ultra competitive and the only person who could push Oxton during the 72/73 Gold Star taking a win at Timaru and also at Bay Park, finishing 2nd to Oxton in one of the most hard fought Gold Star contests ever seen.
As well as his fine showing in the Gold Star Pedersen had a good Tasman series with a best placing of 5th and first New Zealander at the NZ International Grand Prix at Pukekohe in 1972 and this drawing depicts that great effort.
This print is one of a limited edition of 75 printed on heavy art paper suitable for framing and the low resolution photo does not do the finished print justice.
Each print is individually signed & numbered.
Standard print size is A3 but prints are available on request from A4 to A1 (price on application)
