The Lonely Miaow Association is an incorporated non profit organisation dedicated to the rescue and care of unowned cat and kittens in the greater Auckland area. We take these animals into our care, rehabilitate them and get them any veterinary attention they need before they find a loving home. This is done within the homes of our volunteers as we do not yet have our own rescue centre, something which is one of our main long term goals as well as being able to change the outcomes of as many cats as possible so that one day we can really start to reduce the number of unowned cats out there. Everyday we receive calls about injured, starving and lonely cats and kittens. They do their best to survive on their own but many of them endure constant suffering with the dangers of cars, dogs, starvation and disease. At present we are able to help around 1000 cats a year, but we know this is just the tip of the iceberg. With your help and support we can raise enough money to provide essential veterinary care, food and litter to the rescued cats and kittens of Auckland. Tell those you know to get their cat desexed, no cat needs to have a litter and with estimates over 250,000 to 500,000 unowned cats in Auckland alone there is no need for more unwanted kittens to be born into the world.
