About the Store
| Wellington SPCA’s mission is to promote the humane treatment of animals and to prevent cruelty to animals. We achieve this by: • rescuing animals in distress; • caring for and rehabilitating homeless animals; • reuniting lost animals with their owners; • rehoming orphaned and unwanted animals; • running desexing programmes so unwanted animals are not born to a life of suffering; • educating children and adults about how to care for animals; • and prosecuting those who neglect or abuse animals. As the leading animal welfare society in New Zealand, each year we care for over 5,000 animals at our animal centres in Newtown and Waikanae. We never turn away an animal in need of help. In order to continue making a positive difference in the community, Wellington SPCA needs your help. There are many ways you can help us, including making a donation, learning about being a responsible pet owner via our education programmes, and volunteering your time at one of our shelters.
