Waihi Beach is an easy drive from Hamilton, Auckland, Tauranga, Rotorua. It has 10 kms of one of the best surf beaches in NZ and lots of choices for eating out and staying overnight. Highly recommended is www.tohoraview.co.nz which is an outstanding, yet reasonable B and B stay.
