- Listing #: 478463148
Only departures for Sept & Oct 2012 reduced in price.
Some departures for men and women
We start our trip in Kathmandu, with a day sightseeing to some of the historical sites, ending the day with a traditional dinner & local dancing.
We then fly to Lukla and start our trek towards Gokyo which attracts fewer visitors than the neighbouring Everest Base Camp trek.
The Gokyo valley trek rewards us with a number of glistening turquoise lakes and a fantastic Glacier that seems to stretch for miles.
We move slowly up the valley enjoying the awe-inspiring, panoramic landscapes and base ourselves at Gokyo for three nights exploring the surrounding area.
On clear days we can see views of Mt Everest (8,848 m) from Gokyo Ri, which over looks the skyline and mountains for miles around. Ngozumpa Glacier can offer us many day trip possibilities from Gokyo (third lake) village with the opportunity to walk to the fifth or sixth Lake, described as ‘out of this world’.
We visit the Kunde hospital, which gives us a chance to contribute to the ongoing work of Sir Edmund Hilary’s.
This trip, includes return domestic flights Kathmandu to Lukla, Guide and porters who carry your main pack, teahouse accommodation while trekking & hotel accommodation as indicated in itinerary.
A fantastic trip in the footsteps of Sir ED amongst the Himalayan mountains and the friendly Nepali culture. AMAZING!!!!
Our Motto is "to enrich lives & encourage personal growth."
