An exciting opportunity exists for someone to join the company that fuels the upper half of the North Island. Wiri Oil Services Ltd (WOSL) is located in south Auckland and manages the storage and distribution of fuel to retail networks, industry and Auckland International Airport.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring that operational activities at the Wiri and Marsden Point terminals are conducted in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with site operating procedures, defined protocols and good industry practice. Key responsibilities include:
• Collecting samples for product quality testing
• Taking measurements of product held in tanks
• Daily monitoring and recording of terminal operating equipment
• Isolating terminal equipment for maintenance
• Working closely with Engineering staff and contractors

We are looking for someone with a practical mechanical aptitude with a demonstrated ability to follow instructions and operating procedures. You will also have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. The ability to work with minimal supervision and communicate clearly are very important.

Ideally you will have some experience in an operational role in a large plant environment and knowledge of product quality issues and the risks of contamination. Some knowledge of the oil industry or bulk liquid storage (e.g. dairy or water) would be an advantage.

WOSL is a small team and you will be expected to operate in a team environment using various skills to ensure best practice is adopted by the team and that solutions are reached in an inclusive manner. An uncompromising focus and commitment to HSSE standards and compliance is expected.

We operate a 24 hour, 7 days per week business and you will be required to work on a shift roster that includes nights and weekends.
