Pocketwizards are fantastic! They allow your camera to communicate with external flash unit without wires, and without having to calculate flash settings, making use of your cameras ability to calculate settings automatically as it takes a shot (via ETTL). As radio transmitters they operate over large distances, can communicate around corners, and in full sunlight (unlike infra red transmitters).

The TT5 can either operate as the transmitter on top of your camera's hotshoe, or as the receiver with your external flash on top. Connection is via hotshoe. Usually the TT1 is the transmitter that goes on top of your camera (as it is smaller, more lightweight, and uses less power), but the TT5 can operate both as transmitter or receiver, it all depends on how you set them up with the software.

Very easy to follow instructions to set them up by the book, very few settings, and no adjustment dials or calculations.

Of course you'll need more than one of these pocketwizard units to communicate: one for your camera, and one for each of your of camera flashes.
