Of recent I have been running a feijoa re-homing program from my desk at work, taking feijoas from areas where supply exceeds demand (my colleagues back yard where they are destined to be ran over by the mower) and relocating them to the office where free food is as popular as jeans and sneakers (I work in an IT office)...The feijoa re-homing program has successfully;

• re-homed hundreds of feijoas.
• employed 3 kids on a part time basis to collect and bag feijoas (they have been adequately reimbursed with DreamWorks Hero cards).
• been used to barter for other precious good such as cake.
• saved me a few dollars at the supermarket.

Today as I was doing the morning inspection of the latest feijoa bunch, I stumbled across a feijoa that I have come to know as "Farrr"-joa (the noise I made when I spotted the conjoined love heart shaped piece of fruit). I knew "Farrr"-joa was destined for bigger things than the rest of his feijoa peers, as such I have decided to auction this little beauty of to raise funds and awareness for an organization called Canterbury@Heart and promote and support my Dad (aged 58), who on the 1st of June is running 56 km to raise money for the charity. If you are a collector of conjoined fruit or have a taste for feijoas, this auction is for you!

I can't confirm how rare this feijoa is, given there have been numerous Trademe auctions in the past it would suggest it is a lot more common than I had originally thought (although none were heart shaped)...given I have eaten a lot of feijoas lately, it would be rarer than 1/305...

• The feijoa is currently stored in the fridge, it is likely be in a lot worse state by the time the auction finishes.
