Wayne Mason has been a leading singer/songwri­ter/musician in some of New Zealand's most well known bands from the Fourmyula, to Rockinghorse to The Warratahs.

It was while he was with the Fourmyula that he wrote (1969) their first number one hit song “Nature” which was covered by The Mutton Birds (1991 reaching No.4) again by Margaret Urlich (1999) and in 2001 it was voted the Number One song of the past 75 years by members of the Australasian Performing Rights Association (APRA). A huge honour indeed. Other artists such as Midge Marsden, Jon Stevens, Tex Pistol and the Australian artist Renee Geyer have covered Mason's songs. After leaving The Warratahs in 1994 he released his first ‘solo’ album – “Betweeen Frames” in 1995 to much critical acclaim.

His second album “Same Boy” was released Sept.2001 and includes, for the first time, his re-recorded version of “Nature”. “Same Boy” is yet another testament to Mason's ability to write lyrical landscapes and moods, songs that speak from the heart, images that get under the skin, songs that stand the test of time.
