Here is a famous Elizabethan design.

This is a ROYAL DOULTON Rack Plate in the "Old Moreton Hall" pattern, 10.1/4" Dia.

Pattern No. D3858. It has a special Doulton backstamp.

This series was introduced in 1915 and withdrawn by 1933.

Moreton Hall is in Cheshire. It was built during the sixteenth century although there were later additions. Queen Elizabeth I visited the Hall in 1589. The Hall is only a few miles north of the Staffordshire Potteries, where the Doulton Burslem factory was located.

No chips, cracks, hairlines or restoration. Light crazing.
