This bear is at least 50 years old and was given to me on my first birthday.

It is in fantastic condition as it was never played with. It was too "itchy" to cuddle :)

I don't know the "material" but I think it is some sort of real wool/skin. It has the same smell as a sheepskin rug. And where the wool has been trimmed for the paws it is the texture of a chamois. This is the only area where it is a little bit worn - probably as this is how it has been picked up.

The eyes are red buttons.

The wool has been trimmed away for the nose and the black nose painted on with a very hard substance.

The bear is jointed.

The last photo of the bear lying down shows the true colour of the wool.

It may have been bought in NZ but it may have come from Europe as it was given by a Dutch friend.

I'd be interested if anybody knew anything about it and will sell it.
