On Spot-X Fishing Charters we work hard to meet your expectations of your dream fishing experience. We offer a wide range of fishing charter options.

A Half Day snapper charter is 4 hours, $115 per person on a shared trip. We are max 8 people on board and do reef fishing in the bay. Reef fishing targets Snapper but we also get Trevally, Tarakihi, Mao Mao, Kahawai, John Dory, Granddady Hapuka, Leather Jacket, Gurnard, Blue Cod etc. We normally start at 8.30am and 1.00pm. A private 4 hour charter is $790 for up to 8 guests on board.

A Kingfish charter is 6 hours, $250 per person on a shared trip, max 4 people on board. We start normally at 6.30am with catching live bait and then go hunt for the Kingfish. Usually we go a bit further out than the reef fishing charters. A private Kingfish charter is $1000 for 4 persons. If you want to add another person it is $150 per extra person.

On a Full Day s charter, 8 hour charter you can combine and tailor your fishing for the day. A Full Day charter is $1400 in total for up to 8 people on board.

On all charters all the fishing gear and bait is included. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate is supplied on board. Just bring clothes for the weather and your cold drinks and snack if you like. Or you can order our lunch package $25 (1 bottle of water, 1 bottle of beer or juice, 1 package of chips, 1 raw bar, 1 fruit and 1 sandwich (Panini with Ham salad or a vego version with egg if not vegan).

We fillet your catch onboard and you can take it home or to one of the restaurants in the Bay. Cook your Catch at the historic Bay of Islands Swordfish Club in Russel or Paihia and you will have your catch battered or pan-fried with salad and chips. Or try the chef s special Fish of the Day with your catch! What a great end to a great day!
