Jones Group 2021 Ltd (Jones Quarry) is the market leader in Quarrying in the Taranaki region.
Due to more expansion within our maintenance department, we are now seeking another heavy plant Diesel Mechanic to join our team!
Have you ever watched the program Goldrush? Well, this is Taranaki’s version, but our gold is aggregate, sand and colored stone.
Producing and trucking our product on demand is a key component to our business - It would be your job to help maintain and keep the wheels turning!
We have around 100 machines across multiple sites that need looking after and maintaining from crushers and screens, diggers, dump trucks, loaders, pumps, truck and trailers, dozers ... just to name a few!
What we offer is a permanent, full-time role, workshop based - working alongside highly skilled mechanics and engineers with a fantastic opportunity to assist and learn about a great variety of mechanical and engineering processes involved with repair of heavy equipment. If we can’t find the part we need, we make it.
The successful applicant will need to: have:
• Have an interest in heavy machinery and be excited by the role.
• Be responsible with a logical mindset putting safety first.
• Be positive, reliable, and good timekeeper.
• Have some proven mechanical/engineering experience.
• Have a variety of your own tools.
• Be able to work unattended.
• Be able to communicate with all staff.
• Not be afraid to ask questions.
• Be prepared to work in a muddy or dusty environment when needed.
• Be able to follow instruction.
• Have a mindset that wants to do the best possible job he or she can.
• Have a willingness to want to learn.
• Have a current driving license.
