Actus Transport (NZ) is part of the Orion Group, a privately owned and family orientated company that specialise in cartage of stock feeds and live poultry throughout New Zealand.
We want to invest in a reliable truck and forklift operator who demonstrates a good and safe driving ability with a positive can do attitude. Therefore, if you have experience in Class 4/5 truck driving and forklift operations and would like to join our energetic team in New Plymouth as a dayshift driver/operator, let us know.
In this role your primary responsibilities and duties will be:
• Moffett/Forklift operation loading live chickens onto trucks at breeding farms.
• Transporting moffett/forklift to various farms on a class 4 flat deck transporter truck.
Other tasks may include from time to time:
• Class 5 truck and trailer operations.
• Grain bulk truck and trailer delivery’s
• Poultry truck and trailer deliveries from farms to Tegel factory
• Breeder bird movements farm to farm locally and Auckland when required.
• Vacuum truck operation from time to time.
The candidate should have the following Qualifications:
• Class 4 / 5 licence
• Forklift licence
Preferably the candidate will possess the following competencies:
• Logical thinking to solve problems as efficiently as possible.
• The ability to handle various truck configurations.
• Experience driving on rural roads.
• Good knowledge of the Taranaki region.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Safe loading & unloading of freight.
Hours:
• This position is predominantly day shift but at times would need to cover night shift for drivers on annual leave.
• This position is based on a 5-day working week, Monday to Friday
