Lisa Lewis painted this art piece for Sex Workers of Aotearoa Art Exhibition an annual feature at Wellington Art Gallery. Sadly, - Lisa’s art missed the cut off to be included. So, Lisa decided to auction this off on trademe during same period of the art expo. Lisa Lewis (someone who lives the industry 24/7 by using her ‘real name’), has painted oil on paper with her bare body.

Lisa painted this reflection of a toxic relationship / person whose behavior adds negativity and upset to a relationship. Many times, people who are toxic are dealing with their own stresses / traumas act in ways (green slime sloth / ghost); where their own behaviour can sabotage a relationship, usually upsetting their other-half along the way. The wolf painted in portrait behind the green slime sloth / ghost reflects a caring loving partner in the art piece; but then when you look away and look at it again the wolf can grow frustrated with the slime green sloth / ghost’s destructive disruptions to the relationship and that is shown in the green slime sloth / ghost eyes and mouth on the portrait. At other times the slime green sloth / ghost is oblivious and blinded to the wolves ways where both become / results destructive as each other causing a dangerous and TOXIC RELATIONSHIP. This above has all been portrayed through paint on Lisa’s body painted on paper in Lisa’s art piece painted 24/02/2022.
