Description
Kintail Honey Ltd, a 79 year old family owned business, is part of the Kintail Group of Companies, operating 12,000 hives across four bases in Wairarapa, Hawke’s Bay, Manawatū and Te Puke. We produce, buy, pack, sell and market honey, provide crop pollination services, and export package bees and queens. We are seeking one experienced beekeeper and one trainee to join our Te Puke team. Experienced Role Requirements
- Sound beekeeping knowledge and proven hands on experience
- Passion for bees with strong hive manipulation and hive management skills
- Full clean driver’s licence (HT Class 2 an advantage, training maybe given)
- Experience with kiwifruit pollination, including hive preparation and movements although training will be provided.
- AFB training completed and test passed, if not training will be provided.
- Physically fit and strong, able to lift hives with a partner
- Team player with good communication skills, self motivation, honesty and reliability
- Leadership ability and experience leading a team
- Able to follow instructions and pass a drug test
- NZ resident or holder of a valid NZ work visa
🕒 Hours of Work
- Standard hours: 42.5 hours per week
- Additional seasonal pollination hours required, including some Friday and Sunday evenings during kiwifruit pollination and occasionally required to travel away from base
