Wellington Traffic Control is a locally owned and growing traffic management company servicing the Wellington region. We pride ourselves on delivering safe, reliable and professional traffic management while building long-term relationships with our clients.
As our business continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Operations & Performance Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day operations and help drive the next stage of our business.
This is a key leadership role where you'll have the opportunity to improve systems, lead our people, increase efficiency and contribute directly to the profitability and growth of the company.
About the Role You'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of our operational team, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and profitably.
You'll work closely with our clients, planners, designers and field crews to ensure jobs are resourced correctly, completed to a high standard and provide an excellent customer experience.
- Experience in traffic management.
- Manage daily scheduling of crews, vehicles and equipment.
- Ensure jobs are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
- Monitor productivity, utilisation and job profitability.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and implement improvements.
- Build strong relationships with clients and respond to their requirements.
- Work with our design team to improve turnaround times and customer service.
- Ensure compliance with all NZTA/NZGTTM and health and safety requirements.
- Coach, mentor and develop our people.
- Assist with pricing, planning and resource forecasting.
About You
- Experience in traffic management.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent planning and organisational ability.
- A commercial mindset with an understanding of profitability and productivity.
- The ability to make decisions and solve problems under pressure.
- Strong communication skills with both clients and staff.
- Good computer skills and experience using scheduling and operational systems.
- STMS qualification (preferred but not essential).
