Description

At BestStart Pleasant Point, children don't just feel loved, they love coming here! Nestled in a charming rural township, our centre provides a warm, welcoming environment where tamariki thrive. With three spacious rooms and large outdoor play areas, there's plenty of space to run, dance, climb, laugh, and explore.

We embrace our rural setting and celebrate the farming knowledge tamariki bring to their learning. Tractors, trucks, diggers, and farm animals are beloved classroom and playground resources, and we enjoy visits from family pets and animals from the community.

We're looking for a passionate and dedicated Qualified and Certificated Teacher (over 2's) to join our energetic, close-knit team. You can choose to work in either of our over-2's rooms:

Ruma Tinana – Preschool (2–3 years) - In our Preschool room, tamariki continue their journey of exploration and discovery. Building on the foundations laid in the Nursery, they develop social, emotional, and cognitive skills while being encouraged to share their ideas and knowledge. Strong connections with local primary schools help prepare tamariki for the next exciting step in their learning journey.

Ruma Wairua – Kindergarten (3.5–5 years) - Our Kindergarten room nurtures confident, capable, and independent learners. With a focus on the Set for School programme, children explore, inquire, and build strong relationships with peers and the community. Tamariki take pride in sharing their achievements with past teachers and whānau as they prepare to transition to primary school.
