BestStart Kaikorai Valley Road is looking for a warm, enthusiastic Caregiver (Unqualified ECE Teacher) to join our energetic, supportive, and close‑knit team. About the Role
As a Caregiver at BestStart Kaikorai Valley Road, you'll play an important part in supporting high‑quality care and education for our tamariki. Working alongside experienced kaiako, you'll help create a safe, stimulating, and engaging environment where children can explore, discover, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
You will be involved in:
- Providing nurturing care and meaningful learning experiences for tamariki
- Supporting play‑based learning and encouraging children's confidence and independence
- Building strong relationships with children, whānau, and colleagues
- Participating across all classrooms and helping cover staff breaks
- Contributing to smooth centre operations at all levels
This is a permanent, full‑time role (40 hours per week, Monday–Friday).

- A genuine passion for tamariki and supporting their growth
- Strong communication skills and a warm, approachable nature
- A collaborative team player who values diversity and inclusion
- Curiosity and initiative with a willingness to learn
- Commitment to culturally responsive practice, including openness to Te Reo Māori and tikanga Māori
- Ability to build meaningful relationships with people from all backgrounds
An ECE qualification is not required, but experience with children under five, especially infants and toddlers, is essential.
