Projects: A solid and growing pipeline of wastewater and stormwater projects - including pump station and pipe design - for residential, commercial, and government contracts across New Zealand.

About the Role Based in either the central Auckland office or a north Auckland satellite office, this role sits within a consultancy that plays a key role in shaping wastewater and stormwater infrastructure across the country.

As urban development intensifies, particularly in Auckland, public drainage and wastewater systems are under increasing strain. With clients including councils and government agencies, this consultancy is delivering essential upgrades and new systems that support sustainable growth and climate resilience.

The Opportunity

We're looking for Intermediate, Senior, and Team Lead Engineers specialising in stormwater and wastewater to join a nationally recognised team. You'll work on a wide range of infrastructure projects, including government-funded new build and upgrades, new subdivisions, and public network resilience initiatives across New Zealand.

What You'll Do

  • Design and upgrade stormwater and wastewater networks, including reticulation systems and open-channel solutions.
  • Deliver infrastructure for pump stations, rising mains, gravity sewers, detention and treatment systems.
  • Develop design packages for large-scale pipe systems, including hydraulic design & modelling, pipe sizing, alignments, and material selection.
  • Incorporate sustainable stormwater features, such as rain gardens, wetlands, soakage systems, and detention ponds.
  • Prepare and support resource consent applications and liaise with councils and government authorities.
  • (For Senior and Team Lead roles) Manage project delivery, lead technical teams, and coordinate with stakeholders including iwi, regulatory bodies, developers, and contractors.

What You'll Bring

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience in the design of wastewater and stormwater systems, including pump stations and pipelines.
  • Familiarity with regional and national regulatory frameworks, including council and government processes.
  • A collaborative working style, strong communication skills, and commitment to delivering practical, sustainable outcomes.
  • (For senior/lead roles) Experience managing projects and mentoring junior engineers.

Why Join?

  • Work on critical public infrastructure projects that have real impact on communities across New Zealand.
  • Contribute to government-funded upgrades that support resilience, environmental performance, and long-term urban growth.
  • Be part of a dynamic, forward-thinking team focused on innovation, sustainability, and client partnership.
  • Gain end-to-end exposure on projects, from design through to consenting and construction support.

Benefits Include:

Extra leave, health insurance, life insurance, gym membership, laptop, phone, and work-from-home flexibility.

Development: Access to cutting-edge technology, career development support, and a generous benefits package.
