Permanent Night Caregiver | Alden Poneke, Wellington

Permanent night shifts, including weekend roster coverage.

About the role

Alden Poneke is looking for passionate and reliable Caregivers to join our team on a permanent night roster. You'll provide high-quality care and support to our residents, helping them feel safe, comfortable, respected, and at home throughout the night.

You'll work closely with our Registered Nurses and wider care team to ensure consistent, compassionate care. We're looking for someone who is proactive, willing to learn, and genuinely cares about making a difference in the lives of our residents.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide personal care with respect, dignity, and compassion
• Support residents with their physical, emotional, and social wellbeing
• Assist residents with mobility and overnight care needs
• Monitor and report changes in resident health or behaviour
• Maintain accurate documentation and provide clear handovers
• Follow care plans, safe care practices, and facility policies
• Work collaboratively with the nursing and care team
• Uphold culturally responsive care and Tikanga Maori principles
• Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment

Skills & experience

To succeed in this role, you'll have:

• Previous caregiving experience, ideally within aged care
• NZ-recognised Caregiver qualification preferred
• Dementia Level 4 qualification preferred, or willingness to undertake further training
• Confidence working night shifts independently
• Strong understanding of safe care practices and the Health and Disability Sector Standards
• Calm, reliable, proactive, and professional approach
• A genuine passion for supporting elderly residents and going the extra mile
• Ability to work at least one weekend day as part of the roster
• Positive attitude and ability to work well with our nursing and care teams
• NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa essential
