Restaurant Duty Manager

An exciting opportunity have been created for a talented Food & Beverage Duty Manager to join the Clements Hotel located in the heart of Cambridge, just 20 minutes from Hamilton City.

This sensitively restored and renovated building has been transformed into a 5-star boutique hotel featuring 29 guest rooms and complemented by extensive F&B operations, including a restaurant and speakeasy bar.

As the Duty Manager you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food and beverage facilities. You will be responsible for supervising and coordinating daily restaurant, bar and conference activities, managing staff, and maintaining the high standards Capstone is known for.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing daily restaurant operations to ensure exceptional guest experiences.
• Monitoring guest reservations
• Assisting in menu planning and special promotions.
• Handling guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests promptly and professionally.
• Collaborating with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service and food quality.
• Uphold the restaurant's policies and procedures.
• Ensuring a positive and safe working environment for all team members.
• Follow and implement the supply of Alcohol Act.
• Train all staff in food and beverage service to the Hotels standard.
• Responsible for optimising restaurant sales via upselling, coaching and training.

Experience:

• Prior experience in Food & Beverage in a restaurant establishment a must.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent administrative skills
• Previous experience in a customer service.
• Ability to think of your feet and work by yourself.
• Current Duty Manager Licence or ability to obtain one.
