Shelly Bay Baker is an artisan bakery in Wellington, passionate about crafting real bread using natural and organic ingredients. From sourdough and sandwich loaves to bagels and baguettes, everything we make is created with care and pride. We’re looking for an experienced barista and customer service expert who shares our love for great bread, great coffee, and most importantly….great people. This is a part-time role for someone who brings positive energy to the space, enjoys connecting with customers, and takes pride in being part of a supportive, hard-working team.
About the Role In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping the daily experience of our customers. It’s about more than making coffee, it’s about creating a welcoming, genuine environment that keeps people coming back and feeling part of the Shelly Bay Baker community.
You will: Create a warm, friendly experience for every customer, from first interaction to farewell Build rapport with regulars and make new customers feel at home Work alongside your team to keep service flowing smoothly, especially during busy periods Take pride in delivering consistently high-quality coffee and presentation of beverages and food Supporting your team however you can, identifying when people need help and providing solutions Contribute to a positive team culture where everyone supports each other Stay calm, focused, and solutions oriented in a fast -paced environment
What We’re Looking For: At least 2 years’ experience making consistently great coffee Someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and creating positive interactions A team player who communicates well and supports those around them Confidence working in a busy hospitality environment while maintaining a great attitude A willingness to learn, grow, and be part of a developing business
