Branch Manager

Following the transfer of our current manager to lead the Timaru team, Freeman Roofing Ashburton is now looking for a branch manager to continue the current manager’s great work building, leading and growing our Ashburton team and presence.

Originally from Nelson, Freeman Roofing has grown to include 11 branches across country.

The Role Reporting to the CEO you will be based in our purpose-built factory in the Ashburton Business Estate, Ashburton.

As the leader of the branch, you will be responsible for the management and performance of the team and the branch, will lead by example and will work to build our presence in the industry in the mid Canterbury region and beyond.

Your duties will include executing successful sales plans, providing effective leadership to amazing team, work towards agreed targets and budgets while completing typical branch manager duties like marketing, customer and stakeholder relationship management, production and inventory and H&S and HR functions. You will have autonomy in the role and will have access to ongoing support from Group Support to tautoko you to become the best leader you can be.

The role is fulltime, typically Monday to Friday with some weekend work from time-to-time.

To support work/life balance the branch closes over Christmas and New Years for approximately two weeks giving you the opportunity to enjoy a well-deserved break.

Your core duties will include:

• Providing effective leadership to the amazing team;
• Executing successful sales plans and strategies;
• Work towards agreed targets and budgets while completing typical branch manager duties like marketing, customer engagement, work planning and preparing budgets;
• Customer and stakeholder relationship management;
• Production and inventory management; and
• H&S and HR functions.

You will ideally bring experience as a leader, nurturing your team to grow and develop through effective management strategies. With a natural respectful and relatable demeanour, you develop and maintain exceptional relationships with customer and stakeholders while using your business skills to successfully operate the business in the competitive construction market in the mid Canterbury region.

To be successful in this role you will need:

• Experience leading and nurturing staff.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge in health and safety practices and maintaining a culture of safety.
• Experience or knowledge of business skills and acumen including Profit & Loss analysis.
• Competence completing reports and working to a deadline.
• Knowledge of finances including reconciliation, debtors and creditors.
• A clean, full New Zealand Drivers Licence.
