Auckland carpentry contractor is looking for an experienced Leading Hand to come on board due to a strong forward pipeline of work. They work closely with some of Auckland’s most reputable main contractors and have consistent work locked in.
What’s in it for you:
- $45 – $60 per hour
- Paid for every hour worked
- Weekly pay

The Work: You’ll be leading carpentry crews across projects typically ranging from $1m – $3m, including:
- MOE projects
- Apartment builds
- High-end commercial fitouts
- High-rise projects
You’ll be hands-on on the tools while leading crews of up to 20 carpenters, working closely with site managers and main contractors to keep jobs running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading carpentry crews on site and setting daily tasks
- Being hands-on on the tools while overseeing quality and productivity
- Coordinating with site management and main contractors
- Ensuring workmanship meets programme and quality expectations
- Maintaining site safety, compliance, and tidy work areas
- Assisting with planning, sequencing, and problem-solving on site
What you’ll bring:
- Trade-qualified carpenter
- Strong experience working for or alongside main contractors
- Proven ability to lead crews and drive productivity on site
- High attention to detail and finish
- Confident communicator who leads by example
