Opportunity for a Line Mechanic or Electrical Fitter to join our Wharf Road based team. Deliver safe installation, maintenance and fault repair across the region. Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
This is a prime opportunity for an experienced Line Mechanic or Electrical Fitter to join our team in the Coromandel, supporting the local electricity network.
In the role, you will primarily:
- Carry out construction, maintenance and fault response work across electricity distribution assets.
- Be trusted to deliver high‑quality workmanship, diagnose and resolve issues, and ensure all tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Work both independently and alongside a supportive, tight‑knit crew who take pride in the work they do for their community.
This is a full-time permanent opportunity, guaranteeing 40 hours weekly, with penal rates rewarded for overtime, on call and night work.
Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills
You'll bring practical industry knowledge and the confidence to work in the electrical distribution environment. We'd also value someone with:
- Relevant EWRB electrical registration with a current practising licence (or eligibility to obtain one)
- NZQA Distribution Level 4 qualification preferable
- A Class 1 (manual) and Class 2 licences
- Strong understanding of SMEI and safe low-voltage work practices
- Experience in electricity distribution construction, maintenance or fault response
- Ability to identify hazards, manage risk, and follow Zero Harm systems
