This multilayer painting is a labour - intensive process, requiring a long amount of time to create the painting with drying between the layers. The layers give an optical volume visually increasing the contrast and the impression of 3D volume.

The style is impressionism and is brush painted .The finish has a brushstroke texture. The impressionism style was used by Vincent Van Gogh and Claude Monet whom inspire my paintings. The painting is of gallery quality (where I have sold paintings from).

I am Olya Shevel, a New Zealand artist born in Ukraine. I am an artist, poet, and children’s author. All the information for creating paintings, poems and fairy tales, comes to me in my dreams at night. My story is magical and goes beyond the ordinary. I learned in a series of dreams after the loss of my parents. After only six months of learning in dreams, I held my first exhibition in Sydney Australia. Now I also receive information in dreams and they give me paintings, fairy tales and poems.

My paintings have been sold in galleries: New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, USA, France, England, Ukraine, Belarus, Italy.

I wrote and illustrated the first book, Dreams Come True. The story about a lamb named Boom who wanted to fly, no one believed he could, but through the help of a friend, a Butterfly princess, his dream came true. Selling paintings helps me fund the gift of these books to children who may not be able to afford them.
