IRON DOME Acrylic on Stretched Canvas 48" x 36"
"Iron Dome" is a large-scale abstract expressionist painting that explores energy, impact, and resilience. Layers of deep blacks, whites, and metallic tones are interrupted by powerful bursts of orange, creating a dramatic sense of movement and tension across the canvas.
Created using expressive gestures, splashes, drips, and textured applications of paint, the work captures a moment of controlled chaos. The composition shifts constantly as light moves across its surface, revealing new details and interactions between colour and texture.
Bold and contemporary, this substantial statement piece is designed to command attention and become a focal point in any room. I was watching all the terrible attacks from missiles at night above Middle Eastern Cities which inspired me to paint this.

An energetic and visually powerful artwork for collectors who appreciate contemporary abstract expressionism. About the Artist: Clive Andrew Robert Reynolds was born in Hastings, New Zealand in 1960, and discovered his love of painting at 15 years old — a passion that began in kindergarten and has remained with him throughout his life. Leaving school at 15, Clive faced significant challenges, including bullying during his teenage years. Without the financial means to attend art school, he pursued his artistic ambitions independently, purchasing his first oil paints and canvas boards with money earned from working night shifts as a pastry cook. His early works focused on realistic New Zealand landscapes, and he quickly began selling pieces and accepting commissions.
