An antique portrait image by the Croydon photographer Harold Marmaduke King(1880-1955).
A significant early member of the Croydon Camera Club, I have seen a photograph of Harold King taken in 1909, stated as being in his studio. It shows a moustached gentleman, quite dapper in appearance leaning against a large fireplace - think Agatha Christie character in one of her crime novels.
This work is signed and large; the frame measures 57cm by 74cm and it's protected behind glass. The photographic image is in good condition, whereas the special wooden frame unfortunately has a chunk out of the bottom right corner - see photos.
