Description
Ad Marginem is a beautiful painting by Paul Klee. The latin title seems to be its own annunciation: "on the margin, toward the margin, toward the frame of representation in painting". The 1930 varnished watercolor artwork at the Kunstmuseum Basel shows a red circle on an abstract background with singular display of figures on the edges revealing influences of Klee's previous visit to Egypt.
The beautiful and rare print itself is about 40 x 54 cm (width x height) and comes already framed - complete with picture wire. The natural wooden frame (3.5cm border width) and the orange-red matting (ca. 6.5cm) complement the colours of the artwork. The final result (59 x 73cm) looks stunning on any wall.
