Onwards from an Island By Frederick W. Ward

Published in 1995, this is the autobiography of a NZ farmer whose life began on Forsyth Island in the Marlborough Sounds, spent a lot of his childhood and teenage years in the Blenheim area and who ended up farming at Waiwhare, on the Napier Taihape Rd west of Hastings.

Well written reminiscences of pioneer days, farming and experiences in the wartime army. A very interesting insight into Blenheim life in the 1902s and 30s. Lots of black and white photos.
