Description
The Autobiography of John MacKie, Surveyor and Engineer, published by NZ Institute of surveyors, Wgtn 2007, first edition card covers 444 pages, B&W illustrations. Book produced on author's 97th birthday - worked in Malaya before WW2 and in the War was captured by the Japanese and was a prisoner for three years. after the war he returned to NZ and in the 1950's taught Land and Mine surveying in Otago where he became known as Captain Jack - He went on to teach surveying at Otago university Condition: odd mark on cover, minor nicks/ wear at top/bottom of spine, small scratch at bottom of front cover by spine; writing and name at top of half title page, old label at bottom of rear cover - internally very good.
