Description
Kiwis Can Fly - A Career in Aviation by Jeremy Burfoot - an Autobiography
Signed by the Author
This autobiography covers the author's aviation career from the very beginning as a young man when he joined the RNZAF as a Navigator. Keen to become a pilot and disappointed that the RNZAF would not transfer him to pilot training he quit and funded his own pilot training.
This very readable book relates Jeremy's time 'getting hours' in Papua New Guinea and on to securing a job with Qantas in Australia. Amazingly, Jeremy was promoted to Captain of a 747 at the young age of 31.
After 23,000 hours of flying Jeremy was stood down because of Covid 19. At the time he was an Airbus 380 Captain.
The book is an excellent and informative read and the author includes a number of chapters at the end of the story that contain excellent advice for the budding young pilot - just what does it take to be an airline pilot and what do you need to do.
Only a few copies of the book are currently available in NZ and this new copy has been signed by the author
