NZ Blackwood (Acacia melanoxylon) is a high-quality hardwood timber native to south-East Australia and established in NZ for well over 100 years. It is a very sought after timber for its rich dark colour and fine finish. Our Blackwood has been sustainably grown in the forests of South Westland, established by the NZ Forest Service in the early 1980’s as a replacement species for the dwindling rimu supply. We produce and stock three grades: Clean Heart, Clean Colour, and Feature Grade.

2 standard widths available, 84mm cover and 130mm cover. End matching is also available for easy installation over joists.

This listing is for 1 lineal meter of feature grade 130*19 solid timber flooring. The price equates to $96+gst and 7.9% trademe fees per m2. This product is suitable for traditional installation onto joists, or it may be glued down as a heavy duty overlay over a solid substrate such as concrete, plywood, chipboard, or any existing floor. Feature grade is an attractive mix of natural features such as knots, pinhole, bark and grain features. We do also offer this grade in an 'All heartwood ' option. This is all heartwood with none of the paler sapwood.
