A wide spreading deciduous tree native to central and western China. It has with very large heart shapes to 5 lobed leaves. An attractive tree with striking purple flowers in spring and a lovely fragrance. A great specimen tree as it does not tolerate shade from other trees however very tolerant of different soil types and pollution.
USES: ATTRACTS BIRDS BEE FORAGE TIMBER NITROGEN FIXING PIONEER SPECIES
GROWING CONDITIONS: FULL SUN
