Description

New IR transmitter made by Yinyan. Sits on a camera's hot shoe and emits a flash of infra-red light which syncs with camera's shutter release and triggers an optical (light-sensitive) slave flash or any studio strobe with built-in slave. It can trigger as many flashes as you like to deploy so long as they are in the effective range.

This transmitter fits any camera with a regular hot shoe (center-point contact) or with a pc sync socket if the camera does not have a hot shoe. Put a regular hot shoe flash on your camera's hot shoe and if the camera triggers the flash, then this IR transmitter will also work with your camera to trigger a remote slave flash. For cameras like Minolta which has a proprietary multi-prong hot shoe, a hot shoe adapter is needed if the camera does not have a pc sync socket. Low trigger voltage (about 6V) safe to all modern electronic cameras, whether film or digital. The transmitter comes with a 30cm pc sync cord for use with camera that does not have a hot shoe but with sync socket. It has a test button and a ready light as well as an On/Off power switch. Compact and handy, it takes 4 AA alkaline or rechargeable batteries. Range is 12 met indoors or in the dark (Tested). Line of sight not necessary as the infra-red emission will bounce off walls or ceilings. Outdoors in shade 6-7 met. In sunshine it gets confused, may not work at all, or may work up to 3met.

The remote flash must of course have a light sensor attached to the flash foot. The sensors of flashes such as Nikon and Canon will only respond to a dedicated IR transmitter on the hotshoe, or a hotshoe flash which will work as a master. With the IR transmitter listed, Nikon flashes will need an attached sensor the same as any other electronic flash. With Canon EX flashes, attached sensors will not work properly and a radio system is best.

Most studio flashes already have an in-built sensor.

One of the most reliable methods of triggering remote flashes.

Uses 4 AA batteries.
