For sale is a "phat" PlayStation3 Console only (without any accessories). In perfect working condition. It has been modded and can play games from internal hard drive so you can backup your disc games into it.

Full disclosure: I bought this console from another seller here on trademe. The console was unopened (as in nobody tried to repair it before me) and was not working, it suffered from the dreaded "yellow light of death" (YLOD). Upon acquiring it, I proceed to disassemble it, clean it (it was very dusty inside), DIY repair it, applied new thermal paste, reassembled it and tested. Worked perfectly on first boot. It came without the internal HDD+bracket so I used a 500GB hard drive from a PS3 super slim and installed it with a new HDD bracket I purchased online. Tested the console in it's original form and it worked great. Had a couple of games my kids enjoyed playing and wanted to avoid inserting/removing my discs as they are part of a small collection I keep. So I proceeded to mod the console with Evilnat custom firmware version 4.92. Console works great with it, either playing directly from disc or backup (using MultiMan app). I made a firmware dump of the stock firmware so if you decide you want it to be put back running as from the factory, you can. I have included a 2GB mSD card with the files inside the HDD tray. I don't know the past history of this console and I didn't sign in with my PSN account to check if it's blocked or not. Game updates come through without issues without PSN though so to me that's a good sign.

This item is sold in a "as is, where is" basis and no warranty whatsoever is given, hence the 1$ reserve. Although it works perfectly, I'd still consider this to be a console for parts only.
