Unhulled Sesame Seeds are used in baking, cereals and sprinkled over dishes for extra flavour and texture. I use them for making hummus and salad dressing.
I find them tastier than the hulled ones and because they have their hull on them they are alkaline as opposed to the hulled seeds which are acidic. The hulls contain a high proportion of alkaline minerals like calcium.
Because they have their hulls plus a high Vitamin E content, which is an anti-oxidant, they store longer and fresher than hulled seeds which can go rancid quite easily.
Contains more fibre and potassium and calcium than hulled sesame seeds. High vitamin E content.
