Description
For some reason, I did not not manage to sell this washer last week, despite it only costing $20! Perhaps it was my boring, only-the-facts-ma'am description that we bought it reconditioned for $300, that it has been very reliable, that we are only getting rid of it because we got a bigger machine blah, blah, blah...
Well, no more. In the interest of modern marketing, I have to tell you: You NEED this machine. This vintage example of washing history, this testament to 1980's technological prowess and hygienic living, is a marvel of engineering. Not only can this machine fill with water, but it also agitates AND spins! Features include a reassuring whir while it washes, and whereas most modern machines beep annoyingly when unbalanced, this machine soldiers on, thudding and banging like Keith Moon kicking over his drum kit.
It’s slightly worn look only enhances its value. Just as the fad for “antiquing” furniture has created a whole new “rustic” aesthetic, a vintage Fisher and Paykel gives your laundry room that aura of down-home, country authenticity that says: “Hey, I could have bought a new Samsung, but that would clash with my commitment to natural living.”
In fact, these machines are so beloved, they are even on Youtube:

As one commenter noted: “Lovely machine, same design as the British Hotpoint Spiraclean top loaders, which are a smaller version of the GE filter flo, but with the 1050rpm spin :)”
Well, if that is not a stellar product endorsement (and possibly an example of OCD), call me a…. er, don’t call me anything. Just come to Avonside with cash and get it out of my slowly collapsing garage.
