If you went to Auckland or Wellington to see Crowded House play this month, you would have seen the retired racing greyhounds Crowded House invited onto their stage (and into their hearts) to put on a special guest appearance. The band gave these dogs their own special dressing rooms backstage and surprised owners by taking the dogs out for walks around the venues. They fell in love with these affectionate creatures. This is what bass player Nick had to say:

"I was delighted at the enthusiasm of the 'Greyhounds as pets' organisation when asked if we could have a group of ex racing dogs parade on our stage during our recent NZ tour.
The plan was to have dogs appear out of nowhere at the height of applause pre-empting the bands encore ending the concert. The result was a playfully over excited group of ex champions strutting to the roaring cheers of former glory and a delighted show crowd wondering if indeed these canines had the chops to play the next set of songs. From the audience point of you what appeared to be a chaotic stage invasion was in fact an easy to organise example of how calm, intelligent and humanist these fantastic dogs are. As a touring musician I'm looking forward to the day I can adopt one myself. Lots of love GAP you're doing a great job". Nick Seymour Crowded House.

The band signed this CD for Greyhounds as Pets to auction off to raise money to save more greyhounds.
