We have two lovely guineapigs Caramel ("Cara") and Honey (lighter coloured one). They are females between 3-5 years old. Cara is Honey's mother.

Included in the listing is everything you need: your choice of hutches (take as many or as few as you like): 2x triangle hutches, one bought new, one homemade, another free standing 2 story hutch and a wire pen that can be used for summer grazing on the lawn. 2x drink bottles, 2x plastic igloos and a partially full box of hay.

All the hutches are heavily weather-worn. This is unavoidable in NZ's weather conditions. They all work OK, but you may prefer to patch the plastic on the large triangle, and the 2 storey hutch really needs a new hinge on the lid. Lots of wear and tear, but still work OK.

We are selling as we adopted a grey hound and it doesn't feel fair on the dog or the guineapigs to have to keep the guineapigs out of sight of the family for maximum safety reasons. Also my kids are getting older and these girls need more handling and attention.

Guinea pigs make great low maintenance pets - if you graze them outside they will mostly eat grass with supplements of hay and fresh veggies/fruit scraps (apples, carrots, cucumber, spinach, melon etc). We have a very well fenced section so we let ours free range sometimes (pre dog purchase) and then catch them to go back in the hutch at night. Guinea pigs are social animals and should be together as a minimum of 2, with boys and girls kept separate. These girls are too old for safe breeding, so do not buy if you want babies.

It is important to us that they go to a good home so we would like to hear about how you can take care of them. My daughter would prefer their new owners are 8 years plus but we can discuss.
