Description

This is a Kaabo Mantis 8 electric scooter. It’s in good condition and is a fantastic scooter for commuting. Unlike many of the cheaper scooters, this is more powerful for larger riders and going up steep hills. I’m 6ft 2 and 95kgs and it gets up the steepest of hills on Wellington easily. It has 2 x 800 watt motors. One on the front wheel, one on the back. It has 4 different power modes. You can run single motor only which reduces battery usage, or dual motor for higher speed. And you have an eco mode (uses less battery), and a turbo mode for maximum speed, and maximum power for going up hills. This has road tyres, front and back disk breaks & front and back suspension. It also has great lights if you’re riding at dusk or at night. A powerful front headlight, both front and back lighting at the base, and also under the deck lighting. It has indicators and a horn. Battery life is very good. I’ve never run out commuting. Top handle can fold down for putting it in the car or something. Because it’s powerful, it is fairly heavy. You can lift it up, but it’s not a lightweight thing to through over your shoulder.

Here's a link which includes all specs of this model: https://electricmonkey.co.nz/products/kaabo-mantis-8?srsltid=AfmBOoqhhwnkm9lu7aJ0bNPegA_JyuVyWiJZpie-HTQVK5WLh6-BbqQ- Range is listed as 50kms Top speed listed as 50kph (but I've never been that fast)

And here's a link that describes adjust the speed limit setting. I'm not sure what its currently on but I've never used it at 50kph: https://www.kaabousa.com/blogs/blog/mantis-8-p-setting-instruction?srsltid=AfmBOorJ3XwL_bmJXzwFtmPhsPJe3R5PyuyDm6-LAOeru-rHW5_aR285

New these are about $2,000 It’s served me very well, and is a great scooter, but it’s not getting enough use so needs to go. Available to view in Aro Valley Wellington - call 021577144

  • profile icon Hi there - how old is the scooter and how many kms has it done. Any crashes? Trade Me User 4:32 pm, Tue, 4 Febprofile icon Its a little over 4 years old. I purchased from new. Never been crashed. Odometer is at 604kms (as per the picture). Trade Me Seller • 4:57 pm, Tue, 4 Feb
  • profile icon Has the battery life degraded compared to when it was new Trade Me User 7:44 pm, Fri, 7 Febprofile icon Hi there, not that I’ve noticed. But mostly I’ve used it for fairly short trips. Commuting to work in town from Brooklyn. But now and then from Khandalla to town, or Newtown and back. It’s never run out of battery. When you go up a steep hill the battery life indicator goes down, then it’s back up on the flat. And it changes if you’re using both motors, and / or turbo mode. But I do charge it pretty frequently Trade Me Seller • 6:16 am, Sat, 8 Feb
  • profile icon Hey there, just wondering how fast does it go and how much distance does it travel on one charge? Trade Me User 7:29 pm, Sat, 8 Febprofile icon It goes really fast at full power. I think the menu is currently set with a limiter at 25mins, but without that they go to 50kms. But 25 is plenty fast enough for me. I don’t know the top distance, and it depends on the power mode you’re in. But I’ve easily done Khandalla to the city and back, and that’s not a full charge. I have a feeling that on the flat you could do twice that on a single charge. Trade Me Seller • 8:41 am, Sun, 9 Feb
