Be generous! All proceeds from this auction will go towards the Auckland Zoo Conservation Fund, this fund is set up to help vulnerable wildlife both in New Zealand and abroad. To date, the fund has raised over $2,000,000 to support a wide variety of conservation projects aligned with the work of Auckland Zoo. Recent New Zealand based projects include our work with DOC to protect our nationally critical and endemic Otago skinks and the vital work we do for many of New Zealand’s flightless birds such as the critically endangered kakapo.

Baby Galapagos tortoise experience details –

This experience is valid for a family or group of friends of up to six people. All visitors must be a minimum of five years of age.

You will meet one of our senior Ectotherm team who will introduce you to this special tortoise, give you some background on the species and its conservation and explain what was involved in ‘making’ this first Auckland Zoo-born Galapagos tortoise!

As part of this experience you will also get to meet this yet-to-be-named baby’s blissfully unaware parents, mum Chippie and dad Smiley, see them take a mud bath and feed them their favourite foods.

As a not-for-profit organization, every little bit helps! You’ll not only be enjoying a great experience but also helping to save vulnerable animals.
