Finally, in order for you to self-drive from Wellington to Wharekauhau and return, you will be loaned a top-of-the-line Volkswagen vehicle, courtesy of Gazley Motors (http://www.gazley.com).

There are some conditions – the accommodation is not available during the following periods: 25 July to 18 August and 15 December 2022 to 31 March 2023. The helicopter transfer is subject to suitable weather (if the weather conditions do not permit, then the winery is a short drive from Wharekauhau). A full and clean class 1 driver licence is required for the vehicle. The photo of the car in the auction is representative and may not be the exact model (but it will be a high-end VW).

This auction is to raise vital funds needed for Wairarapa Flying Tigers to restore a World War Two-era and ex-RNZAF Harvard aircraft. Harvard 33 served New Zealand from 1943 to 1957, before being disposed by the RNZAF in 1978.
