Battery backup prototype module
Originally designed by an electronics engineer for me as a battery back up controller for automotive alarms systems because battery backup sirens were a waste of time, so this unit has charging for a 7 to 9Ah battery that can power the entire system if the vehicles battery is disconnected or goes flat. I tested it on my company car for about a year and just never developed it further into production.
This one works fine as a one off, or you can reverse engineer it if you wish for more of them, maybe CCTV or ...
I can't remember exact change over points The scope of the unit is that it charges the connected backup battery if certain criteria are met When the vehicles battery drops the security system will swap across to the backup battery Of course if power is reinstated the system will swap back. Case measures 150mm x 90mm x 55mm
The account for this unit was just over $2000 more than ten years ago
