Vehicle condition/bodywork given "fair for age and mileage" by AA with some dings/blemishes/repairs etc as to be expected with vehicle this age/mileage... AA highlighted two areas of surface rust below rear step and on underside, which I'm remedying as per their advice... They said that without the underside surface rust they would have awarded a "good" for age and mileage...

**NB Displayed article on Mercedes Camper is for the Longer Wheelbase.

The Cutaway Layout Diagram is for illustration of the layout only. It's almost identical but differs very slightly.

No expense spared on mechanical upkeep ensuring it's still giving Mercedes performance and reliability...

  • Hi there.. i can see double bed but where the other 1 birth? Thanksanna7320(498)09:41 pm, Wed, 13 NovHi Anna, Thanks for your question... The size of the bed is 2000 x 1980. We've slept four in there before (us and two boys, 10 and 6) and it would sleep three adults fairly comfortably. There is also a hammock, which can be seen rolled and stowed at the back of the van- I've just added a photo of it open and hanging on its brackets... We've also used the hammock as extra storage space on a big tour of the South Island... :)brucecain68(49)• Wednesday, 13 November 2019
  • How many legal seatbelts ? What is the lenght of the van ? Your paper shows 7m. Shortweel is 6m. Thanks.tadjoe(71)08:34 am, Thu, 14 NovHi, Built with 3 x legal certified seat belts. The article is on the longer wheelbase Sprinter for illustration only. Apologies for confusion. This is the nimbler medium wheelbase... Listed as 5.92M long, 2.2M Wide and 2.6M wide, :)brucecain68(49)• Thursday, 14 November 2019
  • Why was the wof faild a few times ?tadjoe(71)08:48 am, Thu, 14 NovHi, Paperwork shows that once was for the handbrake. Handbrake shoe was cracking after heat/friction from a short drive with handbrake on. Replaced parts as required. The second time was for one of the engine mount bolts. I think there were 7 bolts altogether. One had sheared and on inspection had rusted through prior to breakage and so all of them were removed and replaced with brand new. Of those removed, one other showed similar developing rust characteristics to the one that had sheared. :)brucecain68(49)• Thursday, 14 November 2019
  • Kms? Mechanical issues or work done? Rust? Thankspc28(237)09:17 am, Thu, 14 NovHi, 214,800 Kms. The paperwork shows any issues have been fixed as they've come up. At the moment she's running like a dream. I got the AA inspection to bring issues so I could sort them before selling. The AA picked up two areas of surface rust under the rear step and on part of the underbody. He said that they were easy to remedy- which I'll be doing... He also said that if it were't for those he'd have given a good condition for age/mileage, rather than fair condition for age/mileage.... :)brucecain68(49)• Thursday, 14 November 2019
  • **The Handbrake was 2017 and the Subframe mount bolt was January this year :)Seller comment Thursday, 14 November 2019
  • Tadjoe Apologies for confusion, should read: Listed as 5.92M long, 2.2M Wide and 2.6M High... :)Seller comment Thursday, 14 November 2019
  • How long have you owned? Cheerspc28(237)09:57 am, Thu, 14 NovHi, I bought this in November 2015. I have a "Checka" report on previous owners and mileage etc from when I bought it. I believe she had two previous owners. :)brucecain68(49)• Thursday, 14 November 2019
  • Thank you. So this was an ex Pacific Horizon as one of the two previous owners? How many gas hobs? Is there a hand basin in the shower? Does the passenger seat swivel? Any oil drips or leaks underneath. Cheerspc28(237)10:11 am, Thu, 14 NovPacific Horizon may be the trading name- First owners I've got were Eclipse Travel Ltd, There are two rings/burners on top of hob and a grill bar underneath. There is no handbasin in the shower but sink is right outside bathroom. Passenger and driver's chair are forward facing. Absolutely zero leaking oil leaks or any other drips. Fresh water tank currently filled with baby bottle sanitiser to ensure freshness. :)brucecain68(49)• Thursday, 14 November 2019
  • Sorry - one more. Solar power?pc28(237)10:18 am, Thu, 14 NovHi, Never got solar- Leisure battery still strong, replaced old bulbs with LEDs and when we're away we use a portable solar lamp after dark. Also had an isolator put onto the DVD player as it was drawing even when it was off... Added the reversing camera to ensure we avoid small people at beaches:)brucecain68(49)• Thursday, 14 November 2019
  • - thanks - do you have a contact number? Many more questions etc Cheers Paulpc28(237)02:39 pm, Thu, 14 NovHi Paul, 0220658775... Cheers, Brucebrucecain68(49)• Thursday, 14 November 2019
  • Where is the rear awning ??Thanks.tadjoe(71)08:06 pm, Mon, 18 NovHi, Thanks for the question, it's a Fiamma-made, awning. It was brand new, supplied by the dealer I bought the camper from. We've never used the awning but frequently use the bar that holds the spade at the top of the rear doors as it's ideal for keeping the doors still in winds and great for hanging towels, wetsuits etc... • ** NB "Space" not "spade"...Seller comment Tuesday, 19 November 2019
  • So is it still available? Where are you exactly?autumn15(96)03:17 pm, Wed, 27 NovHi, I'm in a similar position to someone having an offer on their home, but with less contractual "safety". Someone has put down a deposit subject to their daughter viewing the van on Sunday & being happy with its condition. I have accepted the offer in good faith & my word is my bond. I will continue listing the van in case the offer falls through & if so will advertise the fact. The best offer made by close wont trigger the reserve but would automatically qualify that bid as the back-up.brucecain68(49)• Wednesday, 27 November 2019
  • If the offer falls through and there are no bids I'll simply re-list the van... Thanks for the question :)Seller comment Wednesday, 27 November 2019
  • I understand. I'm guessing the daughter will go with it, especially when deposit made. I have been travelling and wouldn't get up Auckland way until after the 6th anyway. I'll keep an eye on it. It's been on my watchlist since you listed it but sadly I've been travelling East Cape and Hawkes Bay. Anyway well see 😊autumn15(96)04:29 pm, Wed, 27 NovThanks for the update- we'll know by Monday anyway... Happy travels!! :)brucecain68(49)• Wednesday, 27 November 2019
